Marketing/Broadcast Intern Added to Staff
The
Braves would like to welcome Matt Tymann to
the Braves staff for the summer. Matt is a graduate of Georgetown
University and spent the past year as the sports director for
Georgetown University radio. He also hosted a sports talk show on the station for
three years, and broadcast a variety of university sporting events
over that time. In the summers of 2005 and 2006, he worked
for the Tri-City ValleyCats (short-season single-A Astros affiliate),
updating at-bat stats, scrolling messages across the scoreboard,
and acting as the backup stadium announcer. Matt's career
aspirations are primarily in broadcasting, but is excited to
be working with a sports team in any capacity.
The Braves would
like to welcome two Broadcast Announcers to the staff for the
2008 season. Iain
Duguay (left) is currently a student
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He'll
be a Senior next year in the College of Communications, majoring in Media
Studies. Iain
has worked as a reporter and anchor for WPGU in Champaign, acted as sound
designer for various events at U of I, and announced baseball games for his
high school in
his hometown of Wheaton, Illinois. Joe
Grimberg (George Mason University, seen right) is
majoring in Communications and is a fan and student of the game
of baseball. His role models in the broadcasting field are
Jon Miller, play-by play announcer for the San Francisco Giants and
Vin Scully, play-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He
is excited about working for the Herndon Braves! Robert
Kovarik (Wake Forest University) will
return as the Game Announcer this season.
