Braves Sports Mangement/Sports
Marketing Internship
The Herndon Braves have four vacancies this summer in its Sports
Management/Sports Marketing Internship. At the completion of the
program, each participant will receive a certificate of completion
and be eligible for community service hours or college work study/credit.
Duties : Working under the direction
of the General Manager, interns will be involved in all aspects
of team operations and will rotate assignments on a regular basis.
Jobs include marketing and publicity; food and concession stand
operations, maintenance of field and property, patron liaison services,
game day promotions party management, and customer services. The
interns will have direct responsibility for their assigned area
each home game and will meet once a week with the General Manager
to discuss progress and problem areas. The interns gain valuable
experience in all aspects of running a successful collegiate summer
wooden bat baseball team.
Eligibility : The intern positions
are open to any student between the ages of 18-23 and should be
able to provide housing in the local area.
Requirements : Interns will
be required to work 15 of the 19 home game days. Interns will work
from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on game days. Intern positions
are unpaid.
Braves Broadcast Internship
The Herndon Braves are a baseball team comprised of college baseball
players from all over the country. The Braves compete in
the Cal Ripken Sr. Baseball League and play 42 games from June
through July, which will be broadcast live over the internet. The
Braves are in need of the three broadcasting interns who will be
responsible for the following:
- Pre/Post game set up of broadcasting equipment
- Play by play/commentary during all games (home and away)
- Create copy for advertisers to be read during the broadcast
The Braves will work with college students to design the program
to satisfy college internship/work study requirements. Intern
positions are unpaid.
